“There are represented brief biographies of Armenian doctors and health workers repressed and massacred in Ottoman Empire, Republic of Turkey and nearby territories on the basis of ethnicity mainly in 19-20 centuries.
The book includes large number of documentary materials on Turkish policy of extermination of Armenians implemented in Turkey for centuries.
The book is also supposed to be a biographical directory of around 500 Armenian doctors and health workers ever lived and worked in Turkey.  
The book is dedicated to the memory of Armenian doctors killed during Armenian Genocide”.  
Dr. Harutyun Minasyan

  ALTUNIAN MIHRAN (1890-1915) 

Born in the city of Sebastia.                                                
He was the older brother of stomatologist Hovhannes Altunian.  
He also studied stomatology and worked in Sebastia.
He was killed in 1915 near Sebastia when he was 25 years old.                                                                  

ARSLANIAN LEVON (1867-1915) 

Born in Mezire, a city in the Kharberd province.
In 1905, he graduated from the Royal Medical College of Constatinople. He worked in Trabzon for many years. In 1915, he was exiled with his family.
Soon he was killed with his brother Hrant in 1915.

  ARSLANIAN HRANT (1886-1915) 

Born in Mezire city of Kharberd province.
He graduated from the medical faculty of Saint-Joseph University in Beirut.            
During World War I, he served in the Ottoman army.
In 1915, he was killed with his older brother Levon by the Turks.                                                          

  GALBAKCHIAN YEZNIK ARCHBISHOP (1860-1915) 

Born in Constatinople.
He graduated from the Royal Medical College of Constatinople.
In 1912, he was ordained into priesthood. His jurisdiction included 54 churches and 4 monasters.
He was arrested and killed in 1915 by the Turks.

   DERDZAKIAN ROUBEN (1870-1915) 

Born in Taron, province of West Armenia.
He was educated as a pharmacist. In 1890, he was arrested at the Russian border and sent to the island of Sachalin. He later escaped and went to Caucasus and from there to Persia where he lived for many years.
In 1891, he moved to the City of Archesh in the province of Van.
In 1915, during the massacres of Archesh he was killed. He was 41 years old.

  TERZIAN HAKOB (1890-1915) 

Born in Hadjin city of Adana province. In 1900, he graduated from the Royal Medical College of Constatinople as a pharmacist. In 1909, during the Armenian massacres of Cilicia, Terzian was one of the leading members of a resistance group.
In 1912, he was back in Constantinople, where he published his writings consisting of 5 volumes that recounted in great detail the Cilician massacres.
In 1915, he was arrested and killed. He was 35 years old.

  TERZIAN HOVHANNES (1883/88-1915) 

Born in Tegranakert, a city in the province of Tigranakert.
In 1899, he left for Beirut to study there. He graduated from the Medical Faculty of the American University of Beirut. In 1910, he returned to Tigranakert and practiced medicine.
During World War I, he served in the Ottoman army as a military doctor. In 1915 he was killed by the Turks.

  TOROSIAN PENNED (1881-1915) 

Born in the Hiuseynik village of Kharberd province. In 1897, he graduated from Kharberd College of American Missionaries. In 1897, he worked as a teacher in the Arabkir and Hiuseynik villages. From 1903-09, he studied at the Medical Faculty of the American University of Beirut.
In 1910, he left for the United States to continue his studies and training. Later he returned to Constantinople. In 1914, he was arrested.
In 1915 he was killed together with other 20 Armenian intellectuals.

  TOPALIAN VOSKAN (1878-1915) 

Born in the Marash city of Marash province. He received his preliminary education in one of the colleges in Marash. Then he studied in the Ayntap college of American Missionaries. In 1905 he graduated from the Medical Faculty of the American University of Beirut. Then he returned to Tigranakert and worked as a surgeon.
During World War I, he served in the Ottoman army as a military doctor.
In 1915 he was killed by the Turks.

  HEKIMIAN RUBEN (1864-1915) 

Born in Amasia city in the province of Sebastia.
He received his medical education in the USA and became a surgeon.
He returned to Turkey and worked in the Amasia hospital.
He was killed in 1915 when he was 51 years old.
